Our government is doing all manner of things 'in our name' that are quite simply, reprehensible. 

I was asked by a very good friend of mine recently a question that perhaps many Australians are asking themselves : When did it become Australia's responibility to take care of the world's refugees"?  I answered ever since WE were the architects and protagonists of an international ground breaking document called 'The Universal Declaration of Human Rights'.
